Team Objective

To assist in the professional and personal development of tomorrow’s engineers by pushing the boundaries of experimental rocketry.

2017-2018 GOAL
For the 2017-2018 design year, the Missouri S&T Rocket Team will be pushing its technical capabilities further than ever before. The team’s new rocket, Hydra, is designed to fly as a two-stage, high altitude, high speed rocket. An adaptable propulsion system will allow the team to fly Hydra to it’s highest attempted altitudes: 30,000, 70,000, and 100,000+ feet at speeds exceeding 2,000 miles per hour. This year’s project will push the team further than ever before in the areas of composites manufacturing, flight simulation, and propulsion engineering.

Our Team

The Rocket Design Team consists of three versatile sub-teams: Propulsion, Electronics, and Manufacturing & Design. These sub-teams represent the skills that are essential in the development of a functional rocket. Each sub-team endeavors to expand the knowledge and capabilities of the team as a whole, as well as its members individually.
